Pine Cliffs Golf Course is surrounded by magnificent old pine trees and requires a precise game. Pinheiros Altos
Pinheiros Altos Golf Course located within the well-known Quinta do Lago estate, within the golfing world it is known as providing a mental challenge due to well placed hazards. Bordering the 18,300 hectares of Natural Park of Ria Formosa which provides a habitat for many species of birds and has much interesting vegetation.|Pinheiros Altos is a combination of 27 holes composed by three groups of 9 holes named Oliveiras (Olives), Pinheiros (Pines) and Sobreiros (Corks), respectively. This highly original and distinctive course possesses completely opposing characteristics. The original 18-hole course of Pinheiros Altos was well-known for its contrasting nines. While the first 9-hole are over rolling sandy undergrowth with gentle pine trees, the shorter second 9-hole runs through hills dotted with lakes that present the main obstacle for the golfers on this course.
Quinta da Ria Golf Course
Quinta da Ria Golf Course was the first of two 18-hole golf courses in a spectacular location on the coast of the eastern Algarve, known locally as 'Sotavento'. Quinta do Lago North
Quinta do Lago North Golf Course - The terrain is superb and typical of the area, sandy and littered with umbrella pines trees. In the spring, the rough is covered with a blanket of wild flowers, heather and gorse. The bunkering is incomparable, both on the fairways and surrounding the greens and gives the course an advantage over many of similar quality and design. However, each hole has one easy route and the player who sees this, and has the skill to follow the designer's intention, and produce sub-par figures. An anti-clockwise loop, it favours the draw shot.|This course favours the long hitter, but requires the player to pick a particular route to score well. Quinta do Vale Golf Course
The Quinta do Vale golf course, which has been designed with the interests of the adjacent property complex in mind, is sure to attract golfers of every level and is a strong candidate for hosting important international championships. Covering an area of 75 hectares, the course is fully integrated into the surrounding natural landscape, taking full advantage of the irregularities of the terrain which give a unique personality to each of the 18 holes.|The ambition with which it was designed is evident in the unusual way that the different holes balance each other out and in the singular features which complement and differentiate them: embankments, lakes, bunkers, hillocks, hollows…. Salgados Golf Course
Salgados Golf Course, situated in one of the best-known regions of the Algarve, between Albufeira and Armação de Pêra, and is already a 'postcard' of Portugual golf courses. San Lorenzo Golf Course
San Lourenco Golf is a par 72 course located in Quinta do Lago and is considered one of the best and most beautiful golf courses in Europe. The fact that this is an award-winning course is no coincidence. Bordering with the breathtaking Ria Formosa Natural Park, some of its holes are blessed with what can only be described as exquisite beauty, complemented with salt water lakes. If the first holes present no major surprise or challenges, after the 3rd, closer to the estuary, San Lourenco starts to reveal itself. After the 5th hole, a par-3 and the course's shortest, you're introduced to a dolgleg, stroke 1 sixth hole where your main challenge will be to avoid the dense shrub, so make sure you get your distances just right. As you get to the 7th, life is by no chance made easier but you still get the bonus of the outstanding views from this elevated tee before you have to focus on how to get around that green almost entirely surrounded by water.
On the back nine, the 12th is the most challenging hole on San Lorenzo, featuring a deep chasm along the left of a very narrow fairway. Holes 13th to 16th also face the ocean with the latter proving to be the most demanding par-3, featuring a whole 180 m carry to a shallow green. Seventeenth is, again, extremely beautiful but still falls short of the beauty that awaits you on the last hole. It is a great finale and one that will remain in your memory as it has an excellence that is renowned worlwide. It is, without a doubt, a course for special occasions, that will provide you with unforgetably beautiful moments.
