Spain golf courses - Almenara Golf Club

Almenara Golf Club

The Almenara Golf course is characterised by wooden terrain of pine trees and cork oaks in the front nine and with water on the back nine. Unless your exceptionally straight you are likely to find yourself in both. Two large lakes make it a picturesque course with a floodlit driving range adding to the sparkle of the water in the evenings. The greens are of a good standard but quite small.A challenging golf course with narrow and hilly fairways and typical high lipped fairway bunkers. The complex is situated on the Sotogrande estate and near the the golf courses of Valdarrama and San Roque. It is well worth playing if you are staying in this area but it does not compare in quality or design with it two famous neighbours. The Almenara golf course is also home to the Almenara School of Excellence with all modern amenities for golf practice. The school has a capacity of 90 players, 3 normal size practice holes, approach and putting areas and a swing video analysis.

Spain golf courses - Bellavista Golf Club

Bellavista Golf Club

Bellavista golf course my experience. Modest but practical facilities, with a provisional pro shop next to the car park. Attentive and very friendly staff. A good driving range and a good putting green and a smaller chipping area next to it. Bellavista golf course is typically a member’s golf course with good overall maintenance. The greens are of good size, slightly wavy and firm. A parkland golf course, which takes advantage of the natural contours of the land and which presents the traditional difficulties of trees flanking the fairways, good location of bunkers on the fairways and protecting the greens, several dog legs and 5 par 3, 4 of them with elevated greens. A single hole has water protecting the green. For the quality of the maintenance and the friendliness of the staff, a pleasant golf course where any player can enjoy a pleasant day.

Spain golf courses - El Rompido South

El Rompido South

El Rompido South Golf Course is part of a wonderful golf resort located in the province of Huelva, Andalusia. The golf course, which can be easily played on foot, offers spacious greens with subtle lines. The combination of tropical grass and winter grass gives the fairways a comfortable and pleasant feel. El Rompido South is a very technical golf course with an enormous diversity of dog legs taking good advantage of the contours of the terrain itself and the local flora, with no two holes being the same.
The front nine are in a higher area, and the second nine are played around the saltmarsh, a protected area closer to the sea and where there is a strong sea breeze. The presence of pine trees and water obstacles all over the course require precise ball placement. Spain golf courses - Isla Canela Old

Isla Canela Old

Isla Canela Golf course is situated within a Nature Reserve where the river Guadiana empties into the Atlantic Ocean. Its beautiful location and the mild climate of the region make it an ideal destination for golfing all year around.
The course, designed by Juan Catarineu, is successfully integrated into existing flat terrain and is very comfortable to walk. Wide fairways run between natural dunes and many trees - oranges, olives, eucalyptuses and palms- have been introduced not only to enhance the location but, by their position, to provide natural hazards. At first sight it looks like an easy golf course, but it has its hidden difficulties!
